Fast Cupid founder Anna Tydd has begun running events at Wollongong’s The Little Prince, though wants to know “where have all the men gone” due to lack of male participants.
Each single spends a short amount of time chatting with another before the bell rings and it’s time to move on to the next person. At the end of the night each participant can leave a message for anyone they felt a “spark” with.
“Many people (particularly women) have said the online dating thing just isn’t for them and they really need to meet people to know whether there is a spark,” she said.
According to last Census, there were 293,494 people residing between Helensburgh and Gerringong – 49.2 per cent were male and 50.8 per cent female.
Of that, 57.7 per cent were either married or in a de facto relationship while the rest were either separated, divorced, widowed or never married.
Anyone interested in flirty chatter #IRL – particularly men – will find details for speed dating through the Fast Cupid Facebook page.
