DRAINING US DRY
The desalination plant is being switched on and all households have to pay $35 a year, yet millions of litres of water are draining into coal mines under the water catchment every day.
The report from the Independent Expert Panel for Mining in the Catchment states that five million litres of water a day is drained from the water catchment at Dendrobium alone and that this figure increases during rainfall periods.
How can the NSW Government allow this to happen to our precious and depleted water catchment?
The coal is only a short term industry but the Sydney water catchment area has to last for all future generations in the greater Sydney area.

FINAL SWAN SONG?
The year 1989 saw the publication of The Black Swan, the story of Edward Swan and his 5000-plus descendants in Australia, as part of the celebrations of the 170th anniversary of Edward’s arrival in Australia.
Edward and his wife Mary Ann lived in the Dapto and Albion Park areas and many of their descendants still live in the Illawarra today.
Over 1200 copies of The Black Swan have been sold over the past 30 years.
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of his arrival, in March, a new book is being published tracing Edward’s ancestry in England, back to the 1500s.

6 - You don’t start at the top and walk down first
7 - You don’t mention the weight vest if you wear a weight vest
8 - You don’t give way on the way down , You give way on the way up.
9- You don’t talk loudly so other walkers hear about “your weekend”
10- You don’t even mention the ladders. What ladders ?
