The closure comes after Napoleon Perdis Group went into voluntary administration last week.
Despite strong weekend sales, administrators have said the city’s make-up outlet, inside Wollongong Central, was one of 28 stores to be wiped out in the face of the cosmetic empire’s collapse.
The closure was effective on Monday.
“The administrators have undertaken an assessment of each store over the weekend, factoring in past performance, the right sizing of the business as a whole and the location,” Simon Cathro, form Worrells Solvency & Forensic Accountants, said.
“As result of this review we have identified a number of stores that will be closed.
“This decision has not been taken lightly and we are aware that this will have an impact on employees and customers.”
Mr Cathro said affected staff would be paid their wages owing up to the date they were terminated and some staff had been offered other roles within the Napoleon Perdis Group.
All Napolean Perdis stores closed on Thursday for a stocktake and reopened on Friday with a weekend sales campaign.
The administrators said the three-day sale, offering 30 per cent off storewide and online, delivered “very strong results”.
However, Monday marked the beginning of the restructuring phase of the administration by “right-sizing the store profile and presence, Australia-wide”.
The Shellharbour store remains open, at this stage.
