Dr Denniss is with the Australia Institute, a non-profit think-tank that devotes its time to exposing how “expert” economic advice is taken for granted in public policy debates.
He will talk on The Death of Neoliberalism? on February 20 (4-5.15pm) at the Excelsior Hall in the Thirroul Community Centre.
The annual lecture is free but people must reserve their seat before the day by calling 4227 8191.
ISS convenor Eric Weddell said the previous seven lectures had proven to be very successful and popular.
The society always held the lecture at this time of the year to celebrate Seniors Week.
Mr Weddell said the society basically consisted of people interested in philosophy, who tended to meet in coffee shops in Thirroul.
