The woman – believed to be aged in her 50s – was riding her horse at Lakeview Lodge Stud agistment farm and fell off when the animal hit steep terrain, according to NSW Ambulance Illawarra district Inspector Terry Morrow.
He said the owner of the farm contacted emergency services around 9:10am.
“Initially we thought we need a four-wheel-drive to get in there because of recent rain,” Inspector Morrow said, though the rescue operation was able to be executed smoothly.
The woman suffered a fractured ankle and was transported to Wollongong Hospital.
