More than 1000 casual staff are needed by the NSW Electoral Commission across the Illawarra for a range of jobs in the upcoming state election.

The election will be held on March 23 and thousands of paid roles are being recruited across the state for employment on election day.
Election officials start at 7.15am and work until the ballot paper count is completed. They provide customer service, mark electors off the authorised roll, and help sort and count ballot papers.
Payment ranges from $399 to $925 for election day roles.
A spokesman from the NSW Electoral Commission said no experience was necessary and all training would be provided.
The NSW Electoral Commission is looking for casual staff across the following Illawarra electorates:
- Wollongong: 238 positions across 29 voting centres and three early voting centres;
- Keira: 215 positions across 29 voting centres and three early voting centres;
- Shellharbour: 184 positions across 22 voting centres and three early voting centres;
- Kiama: 172 staff across across 25 voting centres and three early voting centres;
- Heathcote: 209 staff across 28 voting centres and three early voting centres.
To work at the election, you need to be enrolled to vote.
