Wil Daibarra led Kiama’s charge with a comprehensive 9-and-8 win, while the club’s other winners were James Malin and Beau Fraser.
Mark Crossingham won a thriller for Port Kembla against Adam Stojanovic.
Elsewhere, Links Shell Cove were dominant against The Grange, as Danny Nisbett claimed a 5-and-4 victory, Colin Mitchell previlaed 3-and-2 while the other matches all fell Shell Cove’s way on the final hole.
In division two Lachlan Maddinson marched to a 9/7 win over Wollongong, getting Shoalhaven Heads off to the perfect start.
Ian Asbury was the other winner for Shoalhaven Heads winning his match 2-up against Bryan Munkman.
Justin Craig and Garry Murphy were Wollongongs winners both winning 2/1.
With the tie standing at two matches each it would come down to the battle of the number one seeds, as Mark Johnston (Shoalhaven Heads) took on Stephen Webb (Wollongong).
But still the deadlock couldn’t be broken with Johnston and Webb squaring their match.
The Links Shell Cove were 5-0 winners against The Vale. Nathan Whiteman’s 3/2 had the biggest margin, with the other showdowns reaching the 17th or 18th hole.
In the B pennant division one, Links Shell Cove thumped reigning champions Kiama 5-nil, while Wollongong and The Vale also won to make it a three-way tie at the top.
