Illawarra-based promotion Rock ‘n’ Roll Wrestling will host monthly shows during the year at City Diggers, Wollongong.
The first of these shows will take place on Saturday, February 23 from 7pm.
Promoter Luke Potter wrestles as 'Hunter PS Hayes', and is also head trainer at the Illawarra’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Wrestling Academy, teaching aspiring wrestlers.
He said they aimed to present family-friendly entertainment.
"We're going to have the best local talent that have come through the school," he said of the monthly shows.
"We'll still use the best talent from across Australia, but we're really focusing on the home-grown product here from the Illawarra.
"If you make it more personalised by breeding the local talent, (whereby) everyone's got a connection with the area of the Illawarra, people want to come and see them.
"That exposes the product to new eyes and you continue to grow your fan-base."
