Police say three men armed with knives entered the Caltex at the top end of Crown Street about 11.10pm on Monday.
The CCTV vision shows two of the men, both wearing hooded jumpers, walk into the servo and jump over the counter.
One of the men is then seen threatening an employee, before grabbing and pushing him towards the cash register.
The employee complies with the demands and opens the till.
The men empty notes from the register into a bag, then push the employee onto the ground and hold a knife to his neck.
Apparently not satisfied with their haul, the men force the worker to reopen the register and one of them takes coins from it.
The pair then scale the counter and flee.
The vision also showed a third man keeping watch at the door.
The shaken employee then picked up the phone and alerted police.
All three men were last seen heading towards Woodlawn Avenue, Mangerton.
Officers conducted a search of the area, assisted by the dog unit. but the men weren't found.
Police have appealed for anyone with information, or who may have dash-cam footage from the area to come forward.
The men have been described as wearing a red-hooded jumper, a dark-blue hooded-jumper and a light-blue hooded jumper.
All three had their face and hands covered.
