It's not a statement I make lightly after previously playing alongside some genuine stars in this competition, including Japanese weapon Shinji Ono during my time at the Western Sydney Wanderers.
But after less than a season as his teammate, I can confidently say Castro sits above the rest.
He is an incredible talent, who has been instrumental to our success throughout this season so far.
Fans of the A-League see the sort of performances he churns out week in, week out in a Glory uniform.
He's the sort of player opposing teams would hate to play against.
His attacking prowess is among the competition's elite and his ability to maintain possession can become a constant frustration for rivals.
He's also got that ace up his sleeve where he can produce a bit of magic in the blink of an eye.
It's a pleasure to watch, but it's not just in an attacking sense where he can be so effective.
His work behind the ball defensively is just as important to what we do as well.
All that work starts well before game day. From the moment we hit the training paddock he is the ultimate professional.
Obviously that's what Perth would have hoped it would be getting when the club recruited him back in 2015.
He came to the club with great credentials after plying his trade in one of the biggest European competitions in the La Liga in Spain.
He's brought that form to Australia with him and I wouldn't be surprised to see him wind up with another Johnny Warren Medal around his neck when this season comes to a close.
Unsurprisingly he was instrumental again in our dominant 4-0 win over Brisbane Roar last weekend.
Of course he received some great support in what was another superb team performance from the boys.
We were dominant from start to finish and executed at such an elite level that it made a couple of the goals looked like training drills.
It goes without saying that we want to continue in the same manner this weekend against my former club away from home.
The Wanderers have found a bit of form in the second half of the campaign and gave us a taste of what they are all about in our thrilling 4-3 victory over in Perth last month.
They'll be full of energy again and we know they've got the firepower up front to cause some problems, led by Spanish star Oriel Riera.
With that said, we know if we play to the level at our best that we will cause any team in this competition problems.
The challenge for us is to make sure we do that again.
