The Illawarra Annual Brick Spectacular will showcase 60 custom-build LEGO displays - including moving Ferris Wheels and trains - plus demonstrations and bricks for sale, all to raise funds for the KidzWish Foundation.
Presented by members of the Sydney LEGO Users Group (SydLUG), the two day exhibition last year saw 4000 people through the doors, helping raise $21,606.
"Your hear [children] stand there and look at certain things and they make up their own story about what's happening in the scene," coordinator Graham Draper said.
Playing with LEGO blocks helped kids learn an array of different skills, Mr Draper said, from widening their imagination, to story telling and fine motor skills.
"It's creativity, there is no limit to imagination with LEGO, you can literally build whatever you want," he said.
The event will also have a jumping castle, face painting, colouring in activities, play tables, raffles, plus a barbecue and coffee van.
KidzWish marketing manager Karouna Micheal said funds would help deliver various programs to Illawarra and South Coast children and families in need.
The children's charity is dedicated to helping children who are sick, disadvantaged or have a disability and their families so "they'll never walk alone".
