Police arrived at the woman's home in the early hours of February 15 to discover her with bruising to her right temple and a scratch mark on her face.

It is alleged she initially told police the injuries had been caused by her partner, Jackson Black, who had arrived at her home without notice earlier that morning and assaulted her during an argument.

Police were unable to locate Black that night and he was listed as wanted. He was subsequently arrested five days later and charged with domestic assault and contravening an apprehended violence order, which prohibited him from having any contact with the woman.

He denied the allegations during a bail application in Wollongong Local Court on Thursday and was supported by his partner, who called for his immediate release.

“He’s got kids,” she yelled out from the public gallery in a bid to convince Magistrate Stoddart to grant bail.

When bail was formally refused, the woman grew irate, yelling out “it takes two to Tango” and “I did it to myself”.

She continued to profess Black’s innocence as she was ordered out of the courtroom by sheriffs, eventually calling Magistrate Stoddart a “f—king idiot” and vowing to return to court to clear Black’s name.

Court documents tendered during the bail application reveal the woman allegedly told police she awoke around 1.30am to a noise at her rear door. She discovered Black outside the house. 

He entered through the closed but unlocked door, went to the bathroom then followed the woman back to bed. The pair spoke about their relationship, during which time Black allegedly punched her in the side of the head. 

She allegedly told police Black then grabbed her by the back of the hair and “swung” her around before kicking her in the head and back.

He allegedly then carried her back to bed and told her he loved her before leaving the house.

Police claim the woman was initially cooperative with them but then refused to provide a recorded statement and became hostile when they asked her to elaborate on her claims.
