SHOOTING FROM THE HIP
Australians are fairly predictable when loyalty begins to conflict with their hip-pocket. At last, after serious damage has already been done to the future of coal mining, along with the nation’s ability to attract future foreign investment, we see that great Labor supporter and financier, the Construction Forestry Maritime Energy Union (CFMFEU), react and threaten war on its own party if it doesn’t change and recommit to continued support for the growth of coal production and mining jobs.

A recent independent modelling organisation, BAEconomics, has completed modelling on both Labor’s and the Coalition’s energy policies. Both will have a negative impact, but Labor’s insane target emissions reduction of 45 per cent will cause serious economic harm, including increasing electricity prices by 50 per cent, cost workers up to $9000 a year in lower wages, and wipe $472 billion from the economy over the next decade
If Labor wins the Federal Election later this year how long will it be until electricity consumers feel they are suffering too greatly, and can’t bear any further hip-pocket pain? How soon will they give up on Labor’s Socialist/Green ideologies and say: “To hell with them - it’s costing too much! It’s destroying my and my family’s future?".

SOON TO BE EXTINCT
I refer to an article in the Illawarra Mercury on February 21, 'Glencoe Coal call a challenge for govt'. Glencore announced a decision to cap output of coal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Federal Resources Minister, Matt Canavan, says it is about something different than what Glencore stated. Canavan has put his climate change denier's perspective on this and represents the federal government for what it is, a sham.
Renewable Energy along with hydrogen are proving that they are viable, independent of the status of coal. Economic forces as outlined by Adam Smith will prevail and coal will go the way of the dinosaur, independently of climate change

HARD TO BELIEVE
Andrew Constance, the same politician who told us that it would be a couple of years before the mid-afternoon four car trains from Central to the South Coast could be extended to eight cars, and to wait in line for a lift at Unanderra station, now wants us to believe that we'll have trains every 15 minutes within two years? How gullible does he think we are?
Mr Constance has also told us that, to save money, but against the wishes of passengers who were surveyed, the seats on the new trains coming our way will not be able to be reversed so that passengers in half of the seats in each carriage will be facing the wrong way for their journey, which is many cases takes over two hours. Customer satisfaction not guaranteed. Roll on the election.
