Yet, the church and its ministers seem to be more important than that of the men, women and children whose lives have been destroyed by the actions of some church people.
This stand seems to be a long way from that Man who said let the little children come to me and don't scandalise any of them. It seems as though Tony Fisher and his merry men think that a good PR campaign will solve everything.
Repentance, saying sorry and seeking forgiveness is the way and the only way.

A BADGE OF PRIDE
As a regular reader and occasional contributor to these columns over the years, I have read the odd outrageous, heartless and obviously politically biased remark which has almost left me feeling ashamed to call myself a human being.
Maybe 2019 being an election year has raised the ante and the usual suspects are feeling the pressure, but the obvious disregard for the environment, the hateful remarks directed at the suffering of fellow human beings on Manus and Nauru Islands and the "I'm alright Jack" attitude displayed for the less fortunate of our society has reached a new low.
Also interesting to note the absence of comment on the recent Murray/Darling ecological disaster and the insistence that, despite evidence to the contrary by almost every imminent scientist in the world, climate change is nothing but a natural phenomenon and has nothing to do with human activity.
In the absence of formal studies on the subject, I can only assume the opinions expressed by Adrian Devlin et al is nothing but hot air fueled by political prejudice and has nothing whatever to do with scientific fact.
Expressing a contrary opinion to the aforementioned on the rights of workers to fair pay and conditions, humanitarian aid for the prisoners in Australian detention and concern for the environment etc will undoubtedly earn the writer the badge of "leftist socialist" then I guess I will just have to wear it with pride.

CHANGING ROLES
Here we are again, political fibs time with sweeteners.
And not a word from Labor or Coalition dogs-meat about making our long suffering area into a regional zone.
We are part of the Sydney metropolitan area when it suits them, and a regional zone at political convenience.
We miss out on every regional grant on offer, and are very low down the list when it comes to metropolitan finance.
I intend to vote informal at the coming elections, just to deny any parties the election allowance.
Some may say that I am wasting my vote.
I say that my vote never counts anyway.
Labor cant lose, Coalition cant win and nothing changes.
Bring the refugees here, send the politicians to Nauru and Mannus Island for a change.
