From April 14, the five-year-old market will meet at the showgrounds on the second Sunday per month, apparently to the distaste of some stallholders.
"The climate and popularity of markets though has changed over time," founder Kirrily Sinclair said.
"The markets have been impacted by customers’ increased ability to purchase most things online including fresh produce.
"People no longer come to do a weekly shop like they once did, instead, monthly markets are in favour, as they are more of an event to look forward to."
Some stallholders such as Great Southern Mead & Honey have expressed disappointment that the decision was made "against all the [stallholders'] wishes".
Ms Sinclair said it had been a tough decision to make, though they "need to move forward".
Meantime, Wollongong's weekly Eat Street and Friday Forage markets in the Crown Street Mall will continue, as will Eat Street at Bulli.
