Registrations are now open for the 2019 Novice Auctioneers Competition, the Real Estate Institute of NSW’s annual charity event.
The event will feature budding auctioneers battling it out, with this year’s proceeds going to Domestic Violence NSW.
NAC 2019 comprises eight heats taking place across NSW – led by REINSW board members and industry professionals – with the state final on June 13 in Sydney.
The Wollongong heat will take place on May 16, hosted by Molenaar + McNeice’s Trever Molenaar.
The event aims to give up-and-coming auctioneers the opportunity to try their hand at auctioneering, without the pressure of selling a property.
Entrants auction off an item of their choice that they sourced themselves.
Previous items have included fine dining packages, a remote-controlled toy Ferrari and corporate tickets to an NRL match.
The winner of NAC 2019 will receive $1000 in prize money and industry opportunities to refine their skills, including the opportunity to conduct the 2020 Women in Real Estate (WIRE) charity auction.

“The REINSW Novice Auctioneers Competition is a great way for young real estate professionals to try their hand at auctioneering, and even launch their career," REINSW president Leanne Pilkington said.
"The competition also allows the industry to see some of NSW’s up-and-coming talent, and helps raise money for an important cause."
