Sound a bit odd?
Well it shouldn't and maybe in a decade or so it won't thanks to the announcement one of the world's most iconic and innovative festivals is headed our way.
Ars Electronica was launched in the Austrian town of Linz in 1979 as a celebration of innovation, digital technology and the arts.
The festival went from being a yearly event to being a part of the city's culture and now Linz is one of only seven UNESCO Creative Cities around the globe.
Ars Electonica is now spreading its wings and has chosen Wollongong to be the Australian frontier of the concept with the launch of the 3 Festival during the week.
Other such events are planned for Tokyo and Silicon Valley.
Wollongong's tagline is the City of Innovation.
This new festival promises to harness that and bring a new way of thinking which turns it from a catchy slogan into a living, breathing culture.
It's just yet another example of the exciting things that are happening around the Illawarra.
Strap yourself in people of the Illawarra, we're in for a hell of a ride.
