The attacking duo were part of a long list of new additions in the off-season and both played a central role in Wollongong's impressive 2-1 win over Manly United on Sunday.
Japanese born Okada joined after a superb season in the Illawarra Premier League with Corrimal Rangers while Englishman James enjoyed a prolific stint at Canberra FC before moving to Wollongong.
They combined for the Wolves opener at Albert Butler Memorial Park on the weekend.
A bullet like cross from Okada was met by James at the back post in the first half.
Okada's fellow IPL graduates Harry Callahan and Guy Knight, who both joined from champions Bulli, were also solid in their debuts.
Callahan provided the assist for Jordan Nikolovski's winner.
