They will continue to have to pay full fares whenever they catch a train or a bus.
This is despite Keira MP and Labor's treasury spokesman Ryan Park questioning the government's rationale on this very issue.
When asked about this, Mr Park declined to state whether a Labor government would address this issue that seemed to concern him while in Opposition.
Instead he suggested they could use the free Gong Shuttle, which would remain in place.
"What Labor won't do is slash the free Gong Shuttle bus like the current government," Mr Park said.
"The Gong Shuttle bus is well utilised, as we all know, by uni students to help them move about our city.
"This government were happy to impose further fees on to the users of the bus, again increasing the cost of living and transport costs for locals and uni students."
