Chairman Piet van der Pol has made contact with Kurz, after almost four weeks of not replying to the coach's request for a meeting.

Kurz on Thursday used a media conference to detail his frustration at being ignored by van der Pol, who at the time hadn't responded to a message from the coach sent on February 21.

Kurz's pressure point worked: the chairman sent him a text message within hours of the media conference.

"I will meet him next week," Kurz said after United slipped to a 2-0 home loss to Perth Glory on Friday night.

Kurz's contract expires at the end of May and he wants a decision on not only his future, but the long-term vision for the club.

"It's good now to find a solution but it's a process to find a solution for the future - for my future, for the future of the club," Kurz said.

"It's not only one meeting, but we will see at the end I have energy and enough power to work with the boys."

Adelaide's loss to Perth stretches their winless streak to five games, leaving them in danger of losing their top six spot.

By the end of the round, they could be in sixth, just two points clear of seventh-placed Newcastle.

But Kurz doubted uncertainty over his position was impacting on his players.

But he admitted confidence was sliding amid the winless stretch.

"And now, you must fight back," he said.

"We stay in a good (ladder) position but we know that we need points.

"The season is not finished. We have five games to go plus, I hope, the finals.

"The boys are humans, they are not machines, but we must find the way back."

Kurz said it was imperative United hierarchy urgently find a suitable training venue for his squad.

The manager has described pitches at the club's northern Adelaide headquarters as dangerous and is refusing to train there in fear of injuries to players.

"It's a job now for the club to find a good pitch for us, so we can train good and we can prepare the team as good as we need," he said.
