A Lake Illawarra victory over Shellharbour and a wash out between Kookas and Oak Flats saw the Lakers rise above the Rats to first on the table. Oak Flats, however, have lodged a protest at the decision to abandon their match.
"Our game was called off, so we're challenging the ruling," Oak Flats captain Scott McAndrew said. "We'll see what happens, we didn't get a chance to get on on Saturday, so we'll leave it in the hands of the district.
"That top ranking's big going into the finals. It's about pride as well, the fact we came last last year, we deserve a fair crack at the minor premiership."
Lake Illawarra and Shellharbour played out a tight match, with Shellharbour resuming at 4-43 in response to the Lakers' 150.
Shellharbour fought hard, however they were ultimately bowled out for 136.
Lake Illawarra captain Mark Ulcigrai was pleased with the victory, but said his side has plenty to work on ahead of the semi-finals.
"Given we're a week out from semi-finals, the intensity wasn't that pleasing," Ulcigrai said. "We broke their key partnership shortly after tea and got on a roll.
"We'll probably play Shellharbour again next week, so it was good to get one over them heading into the semis, even if we weren't at our best."
The match between The Rail and Kiama/Gerringong was also washed out.
