A youth has been charged following an early-morning machete attack at a Warrawong apartment complex last week.

The machete attack resulted in a man being rushed to hospital with a partially-severed hand and cuts to the back of his legs.
According to police, a 25-year-old man was playing music in the rear courtyard of a building in the Illawong Gardens public housing complex, on Northcliffe Drive, when he was approached by another man wielding a machete about 4.20am last Tuesday.
Police were told a confrontation took place, before the 25-year-old was struck in the arm and legs with the machete.
The armed man, who was wearing dark clothing, fled the scene and is believed to have been on the run for several days.
According to police, on Monday afternoon they charged a young person with cause grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.
The young person is due to appear in Port Kembla Children's Court on Tuesday on other matters, where the latest charge will also be laid.
The injured man underwent surgery at Wollongong Hospital.
He was taken to a specialised hand unit at the Sydney Hospital in a stable condition.
