The Community League battlers will play host to the Illawarra Premier League's Coniston FC at Ian McLennan Park on Wednesday night. It's shapes as a typical David and Goliath Cup duel, but City's Adrian Arciuli says the club hopes to make as big an impact off the pitch as they do on it in their round three contest.
The club will use the clash as an opportunity to raise money and awareness for refugees, with Foster set to come out of retirement to play.
Foster recently played a central role in the Save Hakeem campaign, helping to save the life of refugee footballer Hakeem Al-Araibi.
Money raised will go to the Mums 4 Refugees charity and Illawarra-based SCARF (Strategic Community Assistance for Refugee families) organisation.
Arciuli said the club has a goal of raising $10,000.
"I know it is ambitious but you have to dream big," Arciuli said.
"We would never have dreamed of this when we first started this club in our little high school room at St Joey's in Albion Park.
"It doesn't bother me how we go. We entered this for the experience and if we are to have a good game, that's great, but the whole point is the experience. We would be [Melbourne Cup winner] Prince Of Penzance odds but it is more about putting a spotlight on football in the Illawarra, local business and charities and the region in general."
Kick-off is at 8.15pm.
