If re-elected, the government will drop the cap to $50 on July 1 - a cut of 20 per cent.
It will mean that commuters travelling between Wollongong and Sydney five days a week would effectively hit that $50 cap on Wednesday afternoon.

After that, the rest of the week's journeys to work would be free.
That's a saving of around $20 a week on an $8.69 one-way peak hour fare.
"Public transport is a significant cost for regular commuters and we want to make it more affordable," Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.
"We expect around 55,000 commuters will benefit from the lower cap, with thousands to save up to $686 a year."
