Illawarra's Wave FM is again playing musical chairs with their breakfast show announcers.
Chris Lee has been relegated to the afternoon shift while Travis Winks will be pursuing more of a news role in the prime-time slot, something that was a "mutual decision" according to management.
Adam Straney has been resurrected to take the main reigns of the breakfast show alongside Jayde Tonta, another resurrection to replace Mel Greig last July.
General manager Tony Williams said they had many applicants bu Straney was the best fit, especially as he has previously been an announcer on the station.
"He's a local guy and has heaps of energy; he'll continue on the great work that the team have been doing," he said.
"Him and Jayde have good chemistry as well."
Straney worked for various Grant Broadcasters radio stations (the network who own Wave) from 2000 to 2013, though more recently was working as a marriage celebrant and a "funeral arranger" in Nowra.
In 2013 he last returned to Wave FM as executive producer for Wave's breakfast show, before taking on a role as media adviser for the member for Gilmore.
For at least the past five years, Wave FM has considerably lagged behind rival Illawarra station i98 in ratings and at times also lagged behind.
When asked if Straney would be the saving grace for this year's survey, Williams said "we'll have to wait and see".
