Kylie O'Neill is the organiser of the annual event to mark the occasion this year with support from The Disability Trust.
"People are welcome to just turn up from 4pm when a performance group begins. We are encouraging people to wear a blue t-shirt and bring family and friends. Come and have a great afternoon and raise awareness for people in the Illawarra living on the spectrum".
Mrs O'Neill said police, firefighters, some Harley owners, food vans and a disco will also be a part of the event this year that is likely to attract up to 400 people.
And with the change to the end date for daylight savings this year she is hoping the lighthouse will visibly look blue from 6pm. Roads and Maritime Services have approved for that to occur on the evening of April 2.
Mrs O'Neill's five year old daughter (Grace) was diagnosed with autism in 2016.
She organised the World Autism Day event in Wollongong each year because she knows the importance of raising awareness so other people and families know they don't have to walk the autism journey alone.
