The Rays might be unbeaten through their first two games, but Chipperfield is adamant his squad still have work to do to reach their best this season.
"We haven't had that much time to do much training so we are still gelling, but we know we are going to get better as the year goes on," he said.
They face another big test when they travel to Lynwood Park to face defending champions Macarthur Rams on Sunday.
"I know they are one of the favourites to win it this year so we are expecting a tough game," Chipperfield said.
"They had a loss last weekend but this is another difficult away game for us on a synthetic pitch."
The round three clash kicks off at 4.30pm.
