Co-trainer Luke Price confirmed the stable will accept at Wyong for Saturday's final heat, but was keen to avoid encountering another unsuitable heavy track.
The colt is also nominated for the Star Kingdom Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens.
"They haven't had the rain up there that they've had at Rosehill so we will probably accept him up there," Price said.
"The Arrowfield is still our main goal but if he is to qualify, all of the sudden your arm gets twisted.
"I think he will be a 1400m to a mile horse at his next preparation anyway.
"The main thing is just finding that right track."
Sheriff has struggled in two previous runs on wet tracks this preparation, including a last start third in the AJ 'Bert' Lillye Memorial Handicap (1200m) on Kembla Grange Classic day.
Price expects his three-year-old colt will improve sharply on drier ground at his next start.
"He is going extremely well," he said.
"He didn't really handle the ground his last run.
"He just paddled on the heavy going and that last 200m was the worst part of the track on that day."
Cuban Royale will contest the Wyong qualifier after being scratched from the Kembla Grange heat last weekend.
"He's going really good and will be suited by the 1350m," Price said.
"The track was too wet last time so hopefully we can avoid that this week."
Cuban Royale hasn't been sighted at the races since finishing mid-field in the first Provincial qualifier at Hawkesbury on February 24.
The Prices already have one runner in the $500,000 Provincial Championships final, with Eugene's Pick sealing her passage to the decider by finishing third at Kembla.
Tracey Bartley's $51 outsider Miss Redoble proved too good in the Kembla heat, but Price was happy with how his four-year-old mare had come through the run.
"I am really pleased with her. She hasn't missed a beat," Price said.
"She had to do a bit of work in the run the other day but she's pulled up well.
"We probably be looking for a soft track in the final."
Eugene's Pick is a $15 chance with TAB to win the Provincial Championships final while fellow Kembla trainer Mick Tubman's Bye See ($26) is also in the decider after flashing home for second last Saturday.
The Gwenda Markwell trained Archedemus remains favourite for the race at $4.
The decider will be run on day two of The Championships at Randwick on April 13.
