The house at 16 Trinity Row, Bulli sold prior to auction earlier this month.
It was purchased by an Illawarra couple.
Sitting on a 632sqm block, the home contains four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Located on a beachside street close to Bulli rock pool, features include ocean views from its principal in/outdoor living venue and an escarpment outlook to the rear.
Another feature is a gas-heated saltwater pool.
According to Australian Property Monitors, the home previously sold for $2,150,000 in 2015.
The selling agent for the latest listing was Belle Property Wollongong principal Darren Kay.
"It shows there's still some strength in the northern suburbs of the Illawarra," he said of the sale.
"This $2.5 million sale is on the back of the recent sale at 6 Garaban Court, Bulli for $3.2 million - both to locals."
Mr Kay said there was strong demand for Bulli properties among those in Sydney's southern suburbs, as well as from local professionals who have businesses within the Illawarra.
"At the top end of the market, there's still strong demand for upmarket beachside properties in the northern suburbs," he said.
