The woman, who cannot be named in order to protect the identity of her younger sister, broke down in tears when she was refused bail in Wollongong Local Court on Friday, less than 24 hours after she allegedly carried out the frenzied attack inside the family home.
Court documents said the dispute arose just after 7 o'clock on Thursday evening when the older sister confronted her younger sibling over her placement of a half-empty box of frozen chicken nuggets.
"Fix it now," the older sister said, with the younger sister later telling police she had assumed the 22-year-old was unhappy with the way she had positioned the box in the freezer.
"I will fix it," the victim replied, prompting her sister to call her a "dumb b--ch".
The pair then pushed each other in the chest, before the older woman allegedly picked up a drying rack from the kitchen sink and repeatedly bashed her sister on the head and back with it.
It is alleged she then threw the rack down and picked up a black handled knife that had fallen on the floor. The older woman then lunged at her sister with the knife still in her hand, the court heard.
The younger sister went to her bedroom to get her mobile phone to film the encounter.
During the next few minutes it's alleged the older sister used a plastic spoon and a metal pot to repeatedly assault the teen.
The girl told police she only realised she was wounded when she went back into the kitchen area and saw blood coming from her left forearm.
She locked herself in her bedroom and rang another older sister, who came to get her.
Meanwhile, the alleged attacker drove off in her car, however stopped at a nearby service station when she saw police.
She allegedly told officers she was the victim of an attack by her younger sister, who had hit her in the head with a rolling pin and thrown a saucepan at her.
Police eventually tracked the younger sister down in Wollongong Hospital, where she was receiving treatment for the stab wound.
She provided the above version of events to police.
Officers arrested the older sister in the early hours of Friday morning and charged her with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The woman said she would abide by strict conditions iof granted bail, however Magistrate Susan McGowan refused to release her on account of the seriousness of the allegations.
"It's been a long time since I've seen such an alarming set of allegations," she said.
