Ogilvy will stay at the Hawks for the next campaign with an option to play again in 2020-21.
He will join swingman Todd Blanchfield, veteran Tim Coenraad and young guns Emmett Naar, Daniel Grida and Angus Glover who are all still contracted to the Hawks.
It comes after long-time assistant Matt Flinn takes over from Rob Beveridge, who left after four years in charge, including an NBL grand final appearance where they lost to Perth.
"We're very excited to have AJ back for another season," Flinn said.
"Statistically, he is up there with the premier players in the league and we really believe in him. His mobility and rebounding are a key asset for us moving forward."
Flinn's top priority will now be around securing import players, after the Hawks missed the NBL finals series last year.
