Bokor Architecture and Interiors wants to bring in five shipping containers to the industrial precinct at 9 Durgadin Drive in Albion Park Rail. Four of those would house a different type of take-away food retailer with plenty of seating (and one container used for storage).
In a development application lodged to Shellharbour City Council, there would also be a landscaped outdoor dining area facing the containers for customers to enjoy their fast-food cuisine.
Currently there are no other food outlets at the industrial estate, which is also home to a play centre, plumbing supplies business, smash repairer, pet supply retailer, a fitness centre and an liquor distributor (to name a few).
The new food village would be situated along the western boundary of an existing parking lot and would reduce the number of parking spaces from 369 by 16 spaces to 353 parking spaces.
"The proposal will provide dining options for staff in the locality; that can be readily accessed by foot - reducing emissions caused by vehicular transport to cafes, restaurants etc. located off site," the application said.
Frank Knight Illawarra would be the managing real estate agents for leasing the properties.
The development application is on exhibition through Shellharbour Council's website until April 10.
