CityServe team leader Leeanne Gill said 50 people helped CityServe work alongside Shellharbour City Council and local businesses to do maintenance activities in the Tongarra Rd and Station St area such as painting playground equipment and securing netball posts.
They also did gardening, mulching, fencing, removing old pavers and cleaning around the tennis court.
A barbecue and refreshments were provided to the 50 volunteers from a new barbecue trailer acquired through a grant.
The volunteers worked from 8am to 3pm.
"It has gone really really well," Mrs Gill said.
"Council and Shellharbour City churches have come along".
