Dech is the seventh player added to the Hawks' squad and has penned a two year deal at the club.
The 25-year-old played 12 games last season with the Wildcats and received the Coaches' Award at the club's end of season awards night.
He has previously spent time playing in the US Collegiate system with Metro State and Barry University.
New Hawks Head Coach Matt Flinn was rapt to have Dech at the club.
"This is a club that prides itself on creating opportunities for players and Sunday has shown great faith in us, and myself as a coach, by making the move," he said.
The Hawks have already signed Boomers sharpshooter Todd Blanchfield, veterans Tim Coenraad and AJ Ogilvy as well as young guns Daniel Grida, Emmett Naar and the returning Angus Glover for next season.
