The total distortion of the facts need to be addressed.

Mr Ryan states that the recent Federal budget brought down by the "rookie" treasurer has failed the fairness test.

Well from memory there have never been a fair budget, there is always someone not going to get what he/she/they want.

As Mr Ryan has not indicated what the lack of fairness was, I assume he does not agree because it was a LNP budget.

He also refers to the lack of fair pay rises.

Well from memory that is responsibility of an employer and the Fair Work Commission.  Commissioners that were appointed by the then Labor Government, which incidentally also removed some of the penalty rates.

Generally speaking the government is handing out pay rises by way of lowering taxation. The unemployment figures are the lowest that they have been for decades and the budget is going to be back in surplus in the 2019-20 financial year, something a Labor government always promised but never delivered.

A forthcoming Labor government may satisfy Mr Ryan's sense of entitlement but the financial repercussions will be felt for many years to come with blackouts due to the renewable energy policy, the higher prices for cars (50 per cent electric by 2030), loss of manufacturing infrastructure due to higher taxes and cost of labour.

Perhaps the Catholic Church could save itself by entering the 21st century. Give women more important roles in the governance of the church and allow priests and nuns to marry and recognize that homosexuality is not a perverse behavior but one that deserves acceptance and respect.

I trust the Kiama ANZAC motorcycle rally and ride, last Sunday, April 7, was a successful event. It's for a great cause.

As the motorcycle cohort was leaving the Kiama Harbour precinct, I accidentally tripped and hit the footpath, somewhat horizontally, in a most undignified manner, in front of the IRT apartments in Terralong St.

A member of the motorcycle column saw my fall. He broke ranks, parked his machine and came to my aid.

I did not sustain any real damage, apart from being shook-up somewhat and losing a few bits of skin. Whilst I do not know the rider's name, I will never forget his thoughtfulness and kindness. Thank you.
