The day is held around the globe on April 13, with more than 180 independent music stores around the country celebrating the day with the record, CD, DVD and cassette-buying folks who keep the doors of these wonderful stores open.
Owner of The Shed in Fairy Meadow, which specialises in second-hand vinyl, Clive Owen said nothing compares to the look and feel of an LP.
"I love the sound quality, and the tangible quality of looking at the cover, the record, compared to digital," he said.
"You don't get any of that sort of experience from digital downloads, it's just a lot more organic and the analog sound is very rich."
The sound quality, the tangible quality of looking at the cover, the record ... you don't get any of that sort of experience from digital downloads.
