Ms Abbey, was just 19 and studying full time at university, when she was diagnosed with brain cancer. She knows she's one of the fortunate ones to beat this disease.
"I want to raise awareness in the hope of eliminating the negative stigma having a brain tumour can have for the sufferers. I want to help shine the light on this cancer so that more research is conducted into it, which will hopefully lead to a higher survival rate." Beth said.
Cancer Council NSW's Sari Boschiero added: "In 2019, it is estimated that almost 145,000 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed in Australia. It is through local events like the Cocktails for a Cause that will ensure Cancer Council NSW can continue to assist people living with cancer in the Illawarra."
The event begins at Mr Crown from 6.30pm with on-the-night registrations closing at 8pm.
