The ABC has again proven its intrinsic value to the people of Australia by boldly going where no commercial media organisation (particularly, those from the Murdoch stable) would ever dare go.

And in doing so enlighten the Australian people of the shambolic state which is, the current Morrison government.

This high praise of the integrity and editorial freedom of the ABC is certain to cause heartburn among a minority element of the Illawarra community.

Those for whom, the very mention of the ABC has them reaching for the Mylanta, then running outside to howl at the moon.

As with the earlier Four Corners program 'How to sell a massacre', the "Interference" edition demonstrates the venality present among the ranks of our political class.

Yes 'Interference' proved conclusively, that provided sufficient money is paid over, even a Chinese Communist Party secret agent can get to dine privately with a Minister of the Crown e.g. the Minister for Home Affairs and Border Security, Peter Dutton.

In response to the letter by Matty Ryan 'Priorities Are Wrong' (Illawarra Mercury, Tuesday April 9, 2019),

Mr Ryan is free to criticise the Coalition and some of his points are valid.

But, the following issues need to be considered. Mr Shorten fumbled around trying to explain that an electric car charges in 8-10 minutes which according to motoring experts is actually 8-9 hours overnight.

Labor's, Tanya Plibersek admits she has no idea of how much carbon dioxide is in the atmosphere, yet still wants to impose climate change despite not fully understanding the subject?

Opposition treasury spokesman Chris Bowen has been exposed over franking credits, and now he is exposed on negative gearing.

Mr Bowen used inaccurate figures to promote Labor's negative gearing policy.

Both the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Grattan Institute rejected Labor's claims.

Bill Shorten's tax cut for workers is $1.82 per week more than the Coalition.

Yet, the Coalition is managing tax cuts for workers without the $200 billion in wealth redistribution taxes that Labor want to impose on businesses, workers and self-funded retirees.
