Grilled, battered, crumbed - whichever way you like it, tucking into a serve of fish and chips is an iconic Australian experience. If there's somewhere in the Illawarra or South Coast that is doing it particularly well, Easter is the time to nominate them as the best fish and chips in Australia.

Now in its third year, votes will open on Good Friday (April 19) for the Fisheries Research Development Corporation's quest.
The awards are an opportunity to support local businesses as well as educating consumers on the sustainability of the Australian seafood industry and the vast range of seafood options on offer.
Beach Street Foods in Forster, on the NSW north coast won the Judged award in 2018.
"We have found that it means a lot to our regular customers too and the local community," owners Kylie Crupi, Tanya Thompson and Tanya Page said.
"Many people do not realise the sacrifices that people and their families make when they own their own small business; it is hard work physically, mentally and emotionally."
The awards will again run across two categories-Judged and People's Choice. This year however, shops will need to nominate themselves to be judged through an online application process.
The Fish and Chips Awards have also been brought forward to align with the Seafood Industry Awards, which run in conjunction with the biennial Seafood Directions Conference held in Melbourne, where the national winners will be awarded.
Voting runs from Friday April 19 until Friday May 31. State Winners will be announced at the State and Territory Seafood Awards (dates to be confirmed).
