5:40pm:
In Sydney's north and Central Coast:
- Heavy northbound traffic on the M1 Pacific Motorway has eased.
- Two of four northbound lanes remain closed on Pennant Hills Road. However the traffic impact is minimal and all lanes will open after investigations into the crash have taken place.
West of Sydney:
- Heavy westbound traffic has eased on Bells Line of Road after a crash in Bilpin.
- Heavy westbound traffic on the Great Western Highway is starting to ease but is still heavy from Medlow Bath to Blackheath.
On the South Coast:
- Heavy southbound traffic on the Princes Highway through Milton has eased.
On the North Coast:
- Heavy northbound traffic on the Pacific Highway approaching Woodburn is easing but motorists should continue to allow around 10 minutes extra travel time.
3.45pm: According to the Transport Management Centre, all southbound lanes have reopened on the Princes Highway in Waterfall after the crash near McKell Avenue.
Traffic is still heavy on the approach from Heathcote.
Northbound traffic is also heavy past the incident site.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and exercise caution as heavy traffic slowly eases.
Meanwhile, holiday traffic has eased on the Princes Highway at Albion Park Rail.
Southbound traffic is heavy on the Princes Highway at Milton. Motorists should allow around 10 minutes extra travel time.

3.25pm: According to LiveTraffic, southbound traffic is still affected by the crash at Waterfall, with queues of 6km.
Southbound motorists are able to pass the crash site using the breakdown lane.
Emergency services and RMS are on-site.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and allow extra traffic time.
Meanwhile, LiveTraffic is still reporting that changed traffic conditions remain in place due to the police operation at Coalcliff. Traffic is affected in both directions.
Also, heavy traffic conditions are still being reported at the Princes Highway, Albion Park Rail and Princes Highway, Nowra.
2:45pm: A police operation near the Seacliff Bridge at Coalcliff is also causing some delays on Lawrence Hargrave Drive.
2:40pm: Traffic is slow southbound on the Princes Highway at Waterfall after a four-car accident. Traffic is heavy back to Heathcote.
One person remains in a vehicle with neck pain, according to NSW Police.
1:15pm:
- Yallah to Albion Park Rail: Allow at least 10 minutes extra travel time southbound on the Princes Highway.
- Yatte Yattah to Milton: Allow at least 15 minutes extra travel time southbound on the Princes Highway
- Berry to Bomaderry: Allow at least 20 minutes extra travel time southbound on hte Princes Highway.
- Motorists are advised to allow plenty of extra travel time, take regular breaks and drive with caution.
- Denham Court to Wilton: Allow extra travel time southbound on the Hume Motorway.
11:50am:
Newcastle/Hunter:
- From Black Hill to Hexham: Northbound traffic is heavy on the M1 Pacific Motorway and eastbound on the New England Highway. Allow around 15 minutes extra travel time.
North Coast:
- Ulmarra: Allow around 15 minutes extra travel time northbound on the Pacific Highway.
- New Italy to Woodburn: Northbound traffic is adding around 35 minutes extra travel time. Motorists can consider using Summerland Way to avoid delays through Woodburn.
Illawarra and South Coast:
- Albion Park Rail: Allow around 10 minutes extra travel time southbound on the Princes Highway.
- Berry to Meroo Meadow: Allow around 20 minutes extra travel time southbound on the Princes Highway.
- Milton: Southbound heavy holiday traffic on the Pacific Highway is adding around 20 minutes extra travel time.
Sydney:
- Wahroonga: There is heavy holiday traffic northbound on the Pacific Highway and Pennant Hills Road. Buses in the area are delayed up to 20 minutes.
- Menangle: Southbound traffic is heavy on the Hume Motorway approaching Moreton Park Road.
Blue Mountains:
- Leura to Blackheath: Westbound traffic is heavy on the Great Western Highway.
As of 11am Friday morning:
Illawarra and South Coast:
- Milton: Southbound heavy holiday traffic on the Pacific Highway is adding around 10 minutes extra travel time.
- Ulladulla: Allow around 15 minutes extra travel time southbound on the Princes Highway.
- There is also some heavy traffic through Jaspers Brush (south of Berry) travelling south on the Princes Highway.
Sydney:
- Wahroonga: There is heavy holiday traffic northbound on the Pacific Highway and Pennant Hills Road. Buses in the area are delayed up to 20 minutes.
- Menangle: Southbound traffic is heavy on the Hume Motorway approaching Moreton Park Road.
Newcastle/Hunter:
- From Lenaghan to Heatherbrae: Northbound traffic is heavy on the M1 Pacific Motorway, eastbound on the New England Highway approaching Hexham Bridge and northbound on the Pacific Highway. Allow around 45 minutes extra travel time.
North Coast:
- Woodburn: Heavy southbound traffic on the Pacific Highway is adding around 15 minutes extra travel time to journeys, while northbound traffic is adding around 10 minutes extra travel time. Motorists can consider using Summerland Way to avoid delays through Woodburn.
Roads and Maritime Services has collated data from the last two years which pinpoints traffic hotspots and certain times its expected to be heavy.
What to expect heading south across the long weekend:
- Traffic is expected to be heaviest heading south around the Albion Park area on Thursday afternoon and Good Friday, with delays of up to 20 minutes on top of the existing delays due to roadworks.
- Southbound traffic will be heavy around Nowra on Thursday afternoon, with delays of up to 35 minutes, and Friday for up to 20 minutes.
- Delays of around 10 minutes are expected southbound in Milton and Ulladulla and Batemans Bay on Good Friday.
What to expect heading north:
- Traffic is expected to be heavy on Easter Sunday and Monday at Albion Park with delays of between 15-20 minutes on top of existing delays due to roadworks.
- Delays of up to 30 minutes are expected in and around Nowra on Easter Monday.
- Easter Monday will be slow on much of the South Coast. Delays expected in Batemans Bay, Ulladulla and Milton of up to 20 minutes.
