The Pitts Family Circus is one of the main attraction with Gareth Bjaaland and his wife Bronte plus their children Gwyn, 14, Amelie, 8, and Oliver, 3.
The family acrobatic troupe involves comedy, human pyramids, somersaults and sometimes tantrums.
"That happens pretty much every time we perform," Bjaaland joked.
"We do try and channel that stuff into the show.
"There's an element of chaos when you perform with your family, it used to frustrate me but now I realise people love that, they can relate to it."
The family were performing in Mildura last week and Bjaaland accidentally stepped on Oliver's toe. He explained they then had to change the whole routine to incorporate the toddle running around the tent crying.
The KISS Arts Fest has been run by local performers Dave Evans and Tamara Campbell for eight years. The couple met in Europe while touring that continent's fervent festival scene for 20 years, across 42 countries.
Their brainchild is a celebration of street performers with local and international talent being sourced for the three-day event.
Performers can be found in and around Kiama Harbour and Black Beach with a main stage setup plus tent-like venues L.P.Grande and Cafe De Rude.
This year it received funding from Destination NSW and Festivals Australia.
Other key attractions include juggling comedian Joel Salom and his robotic dog Erik; magician Liam Power; and ghost tours with the 19th century figure The Governess.
Friday night the fun kicks off with the adults-only Kiama Kabaret inside the Kiama Pavilion.
Children can take part in lantern making workshops Saturday afternoon for the evening lantern parade at 7:30pm.
While 1000 cranes will be made across the weekend and hung in trees to represent peace and good luck.
Saturday events start at midday and run past 8:30pm. Sunday the fun kicks off at 10:15am until 4:30pm - with the annual Raft Race across the harbour at midday.
Kiama is on the south coast train line. It's about a 40 minute drive from Wollongong and the Southern Highlands, and about 90 minutes from Sydney.
