The English-born striker fired home another crucial double to ensure Wollongong remain unbeaten and three points clear at the top of the NSW National Premier League.
James has now scored a league best 10 goals in his first seven NSW National Premier League matches.
"That's why we bought him to the club and it's obviously been great for his confidence," Wolves coach Luke Wikshire said.
"I think we dominated.
"We created numerous chances again and got our just rewards.
"Given that we were playing away from home after a disappointing performance last week, the response of the boys was outstanding.
"The attitude of the boys all over the park was great."
James put Wollongong in pole position in the 22nd minute.
Takeru Okada got in space on the left flank and his cross found James' head, who expertly flicked it into the top corner.
James doubled the lead nine minutes after half time when he caught the Hakoah defence napping and fired a drilled effort from just outside the box.
Meanwhile, South Coast Flame beat Balmain Tigers 2-0.
The Illawarra Stingrays will look to continue their unbeaten start to the when they travel to face Manly United at Cromer Park on Easter Monday.
