Having played two of the top teams in the competition in their first two games, Ridgway isn't panicking about Shamrocks slow start to the year.
All the elements are there, he believes, it's simply a matter of producing a complete performance and that is what he's hoping to see against Kiama on Saturday.
"We're not having a fantastic start, being 0-2," Ridgway said.
"The Vikings game, we had enough opportunities to win it, being three tries apiece. We blew a few opportunities where we really should have taken our time and recycled the ball instead of pushing passes. Avondale was a different story, we were a bit out-muscled.
"We have a new challenge this week. We've taken the Kiama game as another game, we'll play to our strengths and hopefully that will get us across the line."
Taking over from Ron Davis as Shamrocks coach, Ridgway understands it may take time for his team's combinations to click.
He's buoyed by the way the team finished last year and remains confident the squad will string a few wins together in the coming weeks.
"We believe we've got the players that can play at that top level. Making the finals, that's our goal. If we change a few simple things in the way we play and stick to our plans, there's definitely a couple of wins for us in the coming rounds.
"It's just a matter of time and combinations. We're trying a few different things, but essentially the group's the same as last year. We've moved a few players around to exploit their strengths, so combinations are a bit of a challenge to start the year. It's just about spending time together."
Like Shamrocks, Kiama have faced a tough start to the season, embarking on road trips to Camden and Bowral.
The side was defeated in both matches, but coach James Patrick was pleased by the effort from his players.
Like Ridgway, Patrick knows it may take time for things to click, but he's confident Kiama will challenge Shamrocks on Saturday.
"It will be good to be back home," Patrick said. "We didn't get any trials in the pre-season, so we've just been trying to get our combinations together throughout these first few weeks. The effort has been great, despite the results.
"As a club, Kiama has had a hard couple of years. It's just something that happens, every club has to go through it at one stage, we're going through it now. We're just trying to build our numbers and keep pushing on."
In other matches this weekend, the number of unbeaten Illawarra Rugby Union teams will be cut from four to two.
Defending premiers Bowral will play host to Uni, with both teams recording impressive wins throughout the first two rounds. Uni's opening-round victory over Avondale was particularly impressive, with the Bulls then backing it up to blitz Tech a week later.
Saturday's other mach between two unbeaten sides will see Camden make the trip south to take on Vikings in Wollongong.
The home side has secured victories over Shamrocks and Campbelltown thus far, while the resurgent Rams have defeated Kiama and Shoalhaven.
Avondale will welcome Campbelltown to Gerry Cappetta Oval, with the Wombats hoping to win their second match of the season.
Finally Tech will seek their first victory of the year when they travel down to play Shoalhaven at Shoalhaven Rugby Park.
