A 53-year-old man has been taken to hospital after he collided with a car whilst riding his skateboard down a Fairy Meadow street.

The Fairy Meadow resident was on Elliotts Road and was approaching the intersection of Storey Street at about 4.45pm on Friday.
Wollongong Police District Inspector Mark Walker said a male driver of a sedan was attempting to make a right hand turn when the skateboarder allegedly collided with the rear driver's side of the car.
The skateboarder has a double-compound fracture of his right leg and a fractured ankle.
He was taken to hospital. Inspector Walker said the man's injuries were not life threatening.
Police and ambulance attended the scene.
Statements have been taken from witnesses and police are continuing their inquires.
Inspector Walker urged anyone else with information to contact Wollongong police.
