The Illawarra Light Railway Museum located near the Illawarra Regional Airport at Albion Park Rail, will have train rides in operation on May 4-5.
The train will be operated by one of the society's heritage diesel locomotives that will haul the vintage train from the main platform area to the train termination platform at the rear of the museum grounds.
"Once visitors alight the train there is only a short five-minute walk to the airshow gates," ILRMS treasurer Brad Johns said.
Train rides will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm.
A return trip cost $5 per person. Show visitors can also park in the museum grounds for just $5.
Wings Over Illawarra this year includes unlimited carnival rides and freestyle motocross displays, while visitors will also have access to all the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society aircraft.
"We offer lots of treats for people on their way to the airshow," Mr Johns said.
"People can grab a bite to eat at our food sales area or enjoy a picnic in our grounds, which has a great play area for kids."
