Hugh Sheridan and Paulini step into the lead roles for the Australian stint, which includes a season at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre from September 25.
Sheridan, a four-time Logie winner most known for Packed to the Rafters, plays Berger - his first leading role in a major musical.
"I feel as strongly about the war, gun violence and the questions raised on the human condition as the original cast 50 years ago,"he said. "I'll strive to do this piece the justice it deserves."
The story follows rule breakers, yearning for change in the world of the late 1960's - fighting for freedom, human rights, the environment and peace in times of war.
Regardless if you agree with the hippies' political views or not, audiences will be toe-tapping to the Grammy Award winning score with hits like Age of Aquarius, Let the Sunshine In, Good Morning Starshine and I Got Life.
"There are a handful of commercial musicals that have truly changed the theatrical landscape and brought new people to the theatre," producer David M Hawkins said.
"HAIR is a great reminder of how far we have come in many ways and also how much we still have to do. It's frightening how relevant some themes still are."
Warning: for those keen to let their hair down the show does contain full frontal nudity, racial slurs, sexual and drug references.
