The road win over the Canaries leaves the Cougars as the only team with two wins to their name, with Thirroul and Wests also unbeaten having both had a bye in the opening two rounds.
It's a well earned berth, with Sean Maloney's young side leading 11-10 at the break after a Tom Maloney field goal after the halftime siren.
They went on with it in the second stanza, running in four tries before Dapto finally responded with Rob Buaserau's second four-pointer on the stroke of fulltime.
Having trailed 4-0 early, and with the game well in the balance midway through the second half, Maloney praised his side's composure before finding another level.
"We started off slow but we were always in the game for long periods and it's good we're matching them now and not cracking," Maloney said.
"Playing for the full 80 minutes and coming away with those points is fantastic. We've got some older heads there now that are starting to play games out and it's put us in good stead.
"I need the boys in those grinds. They played the full 80 minutes today and then we got a few tries up in the last 10 minutes. That's a mindset we have to have.
"I'm pleased for the boys they've worked incredibly hard in the off-season. I don't think a lot of people realise that, we were doing three sessions a week.
"I'm glad they've all jumped on board and on the same page."
Then hosts opened the scoring at Dapto Showground through Buaserau, who barged his way across on the right-hand flank for a 4-0 lead.
The visitors had most of the running for the remainder of the half, hitting straight back through fullback Tom Garrido who crossed off a short-ball from Maloney who converted for a 6-0 lead.
English duo Jake Eccleston and George Tyson combined for the Cougars second, with Tyson latching onto an offload from his countryman to take a 10-6 lead.
The Canaries hit back off the bot of Jeff Robson, with Jace Barnes beneficiary. Troy Pieper nailed the conversion to square things up only a for a quick-thinking Maloney to snap the one-pointer after the siren to lead at the break.
They had to work hard for their first points in the second half but they came in a flood, with hooker Ryan Power grabbing a double and Tyson also grabbing his second.
Tonga Tongotongo was also rewarded for a stellar effort when he toed ahead a grubber from Eccelston for his side's final try, with Buaserau's consolation try coming on the bell.
It was the first time Corrimal have managed back to back victories since 2015 but Maloney knows the Butchers present a massive step up next week.
"Thirroul are coming off the bye so it'll be a good test," Maloney said.
"I'll look at some video and see where we need to be better.
"I think Berkeley played really well last year and were good in round one and I think Dapto will be up there so to play those two teams in the first two rounds has been good.
"Thirroul's our next opponent so we've got to take it one game at a time, it's the old cliche."
Elsewhere, defending premiers Wests notched their first win of the year after a round-one bye, running in five tries to three to outlast Helensburgh 26-14 at Parrish Park.
Collegians also bounced back from a tough two-point loss to Thirroul in round one, with utility Paul Roberts grabbing a hat-trick in a 32-10 win over Berkeley.
