On Monday the star visited again, on a far less dramatic note, to spruik her national tour which stops by Anita's Theatre in Thirroul on October 11.
Ricki-Lee will be singing her biggest hits - from being a contestant on Australian Idol in 2004 to now, as well as songs from A Star Is Born, her favourite movie at the moment.
"Watching it just put me in the lens of a younger me who dreamt of one day becoming a star," she said. "And the paralells in the movie of Jackson giving Ally a shot, he heard her sing and then said 'come and sing with me on stage' - that happened to me when I was 15.
"I got up with a band at my dad's birthday and I sang a song and they were like 'you need to come and do some gigs with us'."
It's also been announced Ricki-Lee will be the new host of Australia's Got Talent, and will start filming with the team (Lucy Durack, celebrity chef Manu Fieldel, actor Shane Jacobsen and US singer Nicole Scherzinger) this weekend.
It's not the first time the star has returned to reality television since her rise to fame, previously working as a presenter on Idol for seasons six and seven.
