School visits were again at the top of the to do lists for Illawarra Labor MP's this week.

The federal election trail saw Cunningham MP Sharon Bird and Whitlam MP Stephen Jones visit and announce funding for public schools in their electorate.
These school visits were on Monday, the same day Prime Minister Scott Morrison visited the region to announce $128 million in federal funding for the redevelopment of Shellharbour Hospital.
Whitlam MP Stephen Jones welcomed the funding and said a Labor government "would of course match the $128 million investment".
It was a busy day for Mr Jones, who was also in the Shoalhaven before returning to announce a Shorten Labor government would commit $49,000 towards Dapto High School's Creative Dapto Project.
The grant will be used to refurbish the existing hall and to purchase the necessary equipment and technology to bring the "school into the 21st century".
The upgraded space and technology will be used by all students for assemblies and presentation evenings.
However the space and technology will also be specifically focused towards the school's creative and performing arts programs, allowing students to access current technology and a proper space to enhance their learning.
Meanwhile Ms Bird was in the Illawarra's north to announce $115,000 worth of capital projects to support public schools and improve learning environments for students.
She said in Cunningham a Labor government would deliver:
- $38,000 towards covered walkways at Woonona East Public School
- $20,000 towards upgrading the performance space at Woonona High School
- $25,000 towards upgrading the covered outdoor learning area at Corrimal East Public School
- $20,000 towards spectator seating at Austinmer Public School
- $12,925 towards upgrading the hall at Bulli High School
