The tour includes films on a 97-year-old marathon runner, a mother-daughter ski touring duo, a rock climbing 19-year-old and a Nepali mountain biker.
"For too long the adventure world and adventure films have been dominated by privileged young white western males," event director Jemima Robinson said.
"Thankfully the tide is turning and this year's Banff Mountain Film Festival features more diversity than ever before while still delivering a full serving of adventure and inspiration through the short films from the world's most prestigious mountain film festival."
Films include: Skier Vs Droine, Viacruxis, For the Love of Mary, How to Run 100 Miles, Break on Through, This Mountain Life and RJ Ripper.
It's coming to the University of Wollongong UniHall on May 16.
